Del Mar Surf Camp

We headed down to Nosara in the afternoon.  The huge rental got traded in for our RAV4 again.  Fairy1 got some play time with her home buddy and even got to go to a little bit of art class.
There were some spider monkeys hangin in the tree.  They had reddish bellies and were beautiful.
Then it was time to SURF!

MomT and Fairy1 headed down to Playa Guiones for their first surfing experience.  MomT lived in SanDiego for over 10 years and never got on a surfboard.  Sometimes you need to let your children take the lead to help you realize what you could enjoy.
Here we are posing with our boards.  Fairy1 has a soft top board to make her first lesson comfortable.

Headin to the agua.  There are tons of surf camps in Nosara.  We chose Del Mar Surf Camp because MomT met the owner and thought she was great.  They specialize in teaching women so we gave them a try.  We hit the jackpot, they know their stuff.

Got our leashes on.

Nelson our instructor was awesome!!!  We love you Nelson.
Here is Fairy1 catching a wave.  We were all in awe of Fairy1, she got up on almost every wave.

Mom got up too.  This was a really good experience for both of us.  We are ready to book our next lesson.

Waiting for the wave.

Surfing Chicas and Surf Instructor

Thumbs up.....Fairy1 is definitely a natural.  She was getting lots of hoots and hollers from observers.

We surfed until sunset.

Back at the car.  Our 2 hour lesson went quick but we are starving!
