Adios Costa Rica!

The previous evening MomT savored all of the jungle chatter and locked all of the incredible sounds in her memory. The very powerful sound of crashing waves, screeching and squawking exotic birds, howler monkeys reminding you they are there and the subtle squeak of the ceiling fan. Back in NH the nights would be virtually silent except for the sound of the furnace cycling on and off throughout the cold winter nights. Hard to believe the weather could be anything other than what she was experiencing the night before.

Fairy1 got her last wake up and read session on the lounger.

One last trip to Naked Foods for lots of hugs and kisses...and some moist eyes. Of course there was also laughter!

A quick snack, bags in the car and on the road.

Sad faces

A quick stop to grab CDs from the bag at the bottom of the luggage pile and a chance to snap one last photo of the ocean.

Ok two

Road block

MomT and DadD marveled at the lack of waste in Costa Rica. For example, the waste of labor or tax payers money. There was road construction. Two signs, one laborer driving equipment and that's all folks. No one standing with a flag, no police cars with flashing lights, no one standing around doing...well nothing. Believe it or not, all the drivers figured out all on their own how to use the one lane and take turns, amazing stuff;)

The beautiful green hills which will soon be dry and browned.

Notice the fence posts. Trees are planted and their trunks serve as the fence posts.

Wow it really is almost Christmas, first tree spotting at car rental return.

Babushka wearing her scarf given to her by a sweet store owner in Nosara.

Duty free shop...look Rose it is your favorite chocolate!

No comment needed...Yikes!

Ready to board the plane

Flawless flight and travel.
Mom it is chilly here!

Arrived at Logan Airport Hotel at 1am...midnight Costa Rica time. Everyone should sleep in late....HA!

Last Full Day (part 2)

Fairy2 is a master wave jumper look at that height!

After Fairy1, Nelson and Maggie finished surfing, it was back to the casa for Maggie and the Fairies. MomT and DadD were heading off to their last class with Monika (so lucky to have mom and dad time). Too bad the Fab4 didn't bring more luggage to smuggle back all of the wonderful friends they have connected with in the jungle. Of course Monika's class was awesome and MomT was hit with the thought of how much she is going to miss this community:(. Grateful for it all and sad to say goodbye...for now.

Maggie and Nelson stopped in, before the fairies hit the sack, and said their goodbyes. The fairies were caught in the act of rockin out to Lady Gaga.
Buenos noches!

Last Full Day In Nosara

So this is it for the Fab4...the last full day in Nosara. MomT suggested to the fairies to savor their last day and live in the moment. There seemed to be a lot of talk about all "stuff" NH and they were not planning to arrive home until Sunday. Everyone agreed to try to enjoy their last moments in paradise and seize the day/s.

Originally Fairy2 insisted on going to school on Friday. She changed her mind (for good) when MomT explained there was a field trip to nature center. Fairy2 was told by a school friend that this trip was an adventure to the jungle. Fairy2 had a very clear picture in her head on what she might encounter in the jungle. Nothing MomT offered up was going to change her mind about attending the center.

DadD got in his last surf session (which apparently was amazing) while MomT and Fairy2 played on the beach. Before they hit the beach, Fairy1 was dropped off with Nelson and Maggie for her last surf of the trip.

Can you say....spoiled!? A piggy back ride from Maggie as Nelson lugs the boards.

MomT and Fairy2 enjoyed hanging out in the new palapa....

Swinging

Hanging in the rope

Oo la la look at the fancy driftwood furniture

She's on top of the world, gotta have a lookout deck!

Burp Day (part 2)

JP at naked foods made DadD an amazing coconut chocolate cream pie. A coconut almond crust, a layer of chocolate a layer of coconut cream with chocolate swirled in it. Coconut chocolate almond love.
Here is JP with the Fab4

Here is their laughing buddy Sim presenting the dreamy cake

Some gifts for DadD

It is like Mary Poppins... "We love to laugh hahahaha". The Fab3 with Shivanter and Sim their cleanse coaches and very amazing teachers:) Lots of gratitude for these two.

Fairy2 still wasn't sure about all of this laughing.....were they all laughing at her or with her?

After they stopped floating in the coconut cream dream...bloop bloop...it was off to Playa Pelada.

Swinging, beach combing, and enjoying their last time at this magical beach. Fairy2 loves to collect bones from the beach. Even though she was told this one was not coming home she still slipped it into DadD's pocket. Have a collection back at the casa of fish bones soaking in soap.

OOhh what is that?

An early dinner and sunset at La Luna=heaven.

The Burp day boy. He is looking pretty relaxed and content.

Happy Burp Day Bubba!! Warning cover your eyes. Explicit content.

Love lounging on the couches for dinner. Fairy2 had the pizza again and it literally made her sing.

Sunset view from dinner.

What a great spot to celebrate!!

Happy Burp Day DadD (part 1)

Well MomT was off her cleanse today and feels pretty darn good. DadD has not had his morning coffee in 2 days...this is quite amazing to those who know him. Not only did he not have it, he felt like he didn't need it. So Cool!

DadD started off his special day surfing for a couple of hours. Fairy1 had a surf lesson with Nelson and they were joined by Maggie. Fairy1 was in heaven. She had a great day out and just can't get enough.

On a mission.

Nice wave baby!

Maggie giving high five.

Nelson challenged her to surf the whole way in without losing the hat.

Maggie and Fairy1 met MomT and Fairy2 at Harmony. MomT and Fairy2 sat in the serene atmosphere of the juice bar area and Fairy2 had her finger and toenails painted by MomT. She loves to have her nails painted. Her favorite babysitter at home painted Fairy2's nails twice a week a couple of summers ago.

We love you Maggie.

The girls met up with DadD and MomT headed over to the Yoga House for a yoga class. MomT loves loves this painting in progress at the Yoga House.

The artist Katherine claims she will come to NH in the summer if MomT is serious about having her paint a wall in her house. Hmmmmm.

Wednesday (part 2)

MomT and DadD are still trying to figure out how to load the "cooking show". The clip is long and the internet signal is in and out at the casa sometimes. Stay tuned!

DadD really wanted to go for a boat ride to celebrate his birthday (Thurs the 8th). The Fab4 has not left a 5 mile radius in almost a month, but the broke the barrier and went about 1 mile out of this radius. They traveled South to a small village called Garza. They boarded a dingy on the beach and headed out past the breaks to a 32 ft boat called Wanderer. When they first got in the dingy Fairy2 was concerned that the gentleman was not going to be able to row us out past the breaks. Once he got the engine running she was thrilled to zip out to Wanderer.

The captain and first mate had a hard time figuring out what the Fab4 expected on the boat trip. Just didn't believe the family wanted to just go for a ride. Well it was actually the birthday boy's idea but the rest of them enjoyed the boat as well.

DadD was happy as a clam

The girls

They were going to try to snorkel around a little island with pink sand (actually small crushed pink shells) but the tide was high and it would have been a long swim to shore.

Instead they headed North and went looking for turtles. The olive ridley sea turtles were everywhere. The captain had to be super careful while driving.

These two were attached, in a literal sense. Ooops sorry to interupt.

A super quick hop on the boat.

Back into the water for this guy. Ruined his date.
Here is a view of part of the Playa Guiones shoreline. The building in the center of the photo is the only structure visible while on the beach.

The crew was definitely confused on why this bunch was on their boat. They were used to a rowdier fishing drinking crowd. They kept on trying to think of other ways to entertain but the bunch was content. The perfectly cheesy music was almost enough to make MomT swim to shore. She was thinking at least she didn't have to listen to any Jimmy Buffet. Not 5 minutes after her thought was born...DadD said "hey honey it's Jimmy Buffet". He know how Jimmy touches MomT in a not so special way.

Like a little dog lovin the wind in her face. Fairy2 did get to the point when she decided she liked when the boat wasn't going so fast. The captain slowed down and we cruised back at a mellow pace.

Some daddy love:)

After the two hour tour, the two hour tour. The weather started getting...oh wait that is a different story.

When DadD wakes in the morning he will be a year older.

Wednesday (part 1)

MomT got the last of her cleanse goodies today. DadD and the fairies hung at the casa. Fairy1 prepared for her Skype with her class today. She was going to prepare a typical Costa Rican meal and she researched some history on the "Casado or Plato Tipico". The menu was set and the food was prepped for the cooking show.

Fairy1 did a great job describing the various ingredients and the significance of the components of the meal. During some cooking down time Sofia got a lesson from Wemmy, in the NH classroom, on how to multiply with 2 digit numbers. Great job Wemmy! Amazing 4th graders and an amazing teacher who instantly inspires them. Thanks for thinking out of the box Mr F!
Just as the cooking show was resuming the power in the casa went out..hey just like being in NH! Uh oh! What do I do now mom?

Connection failed! Fairy1 likes how this picture showed all of the fingerprints. Fairy2 tries to use the MacBook like an iPad.

Oh well! The class didn't get to see the finished products from the cooking show so the host, Fairy1, took some pictures with MomT (her assistant). They also made a video.

The menu

The masterpiece...salad, black beans, rice, chayote squash, fresh tortillas (bought locally) and fried sweet plantains. This is the vegetarian version of Casado.

Meanwhile Fairy2 and DadD did some exploring on the beach...she loves to load up her backpack with supplies and explore.

Here she is trying to catch little fish with her hands. Very determined

.
Swing in the new palapa just built on the beach by a guy from San Diego. You rock Ben!
