On Our Way Again

Just so ya know, we did make it out and on our way to Nuevo Arenal.  Here is a lucky turkey who didn't have to worry about being eaten on Thanksgiving.  Fairy2 and I witnessed his mate being run over by a truck but it was between the tires so she got out safe.

Here we are embracing a photo-op while waiting for our rescuer to fix the tire.

the flat

DadD was glad he didn't try to fix the flat.  Our large vehicle was wobbling on the jack ....yikes!

We had lots of monkeys to entertain us while we waited.  There was also a coati and agouti sighting.

At 5ish we reached Nuevo Arenal and went straight to The Gingerbread for dinner.  This funky boutique inn and restaurant was exactly what we needed.  The owner Eyal was an in your face kind of guy...but in a good way.  He described the night's family style menu in detail and made lots of suggestions (with enthusiasum).  Our dinner consisted of a hearts of palm and artichoke salad, awesome pumpkin soup, and macadamia & coconut crusted sea bass.  The kids really enjoyed the little dog and cat in the restaurant, they must have different health regulations than us.  With that being said, I am a germ freak and every restroom we have encountered (even the grossest gas station) has been spotless.  This is a good thing.
After dinner we headed to our townhouse.  The road to the townhouse was super steep and windy, but so are all the other roads around here.  We found our place on the lake and hit the hay.
